The wave-particle ambiguity refers to the fact that quanta (packets of energy) behave like WAVES when UNOBSERVED but as PARTICLES when OBSERVED! In other words, as soon as someone observes quanta, their wave function collapses, and they appear as particles. This fact led many quantum physicists, one, to assert the primacy of the observer and, two, to embrace philosophical idealism: the notion that reality takes place in the MIND, that a falling tree makes noise only when someone is there to hear it! That is a ridiculous position because it is by definition prejudiced toward the observer and against the world. That is how ignorant most scientists are of the philosophical implications of their conclusions.
